For All Students Attending Classes:
Security: The Academy reserves the right to ask students for credentials / proof of criminal justice employment at any time.
1. Please see Dorm Rules for students utilizing the DORM facilities.
2. Please see Dress Code tab.
3. Please remove hats in the buildings.
4. All tobacco products are prohibited in the main Academy building and the Dorm building. This includes "in cheek" loose tobacco products.
5. In the classrooms: Drinks are restricted to bottled water only. Food is prohibited in classrooms.
6. CELL PHONES:
ALL BASIC STUDENTS are prohibited from having cell phones IN THE BUILDING. Cell phones must be stored in student's vehicle or Dorm room. Basic Students are subject to periodic inspection and subsequent disciplinary action for any breach of this policy.
In-Service students may have cell phones, however we request that they remain on "vibrate" or "off" position. Since most In-Service students are on-duty, we understand the need for cell phones, however conducting conversations in the classroom during a presentation is prohibited. Please be considerate of other students, the Instructors, and the Staff by excusing yourself from the classroom and taking/making your calls outside of the classroom.
7. Electronic Devices: Any Social Networking ( Facebook, Twitter, etc. ) is prohibited during classroom instruction.
8. OFFICER SAFETY: Please help keep the Academy safe for all Law Enforcement. Keep a heightened sense of awareness of everyone you see for Officer Safety. If you observe anyone suspicious on Academy grounds, please make sure that you advise Command Staff immediately, or take the time check anyone or anything of suspicious nature. With the murders of 4 Police Officers sitting in a coffeeshop in Lakeland Washington, it is apparent that there are no "safe havens" for law enforcement, including a training facility designated for law enforcement. Let's keep each other safe.
